Unmatched Privacy and Security with GuardMail’s Encrypted Email

Secure Email from GuardMail is designed using end-to-end encryption, converting your conversations into code during transit and at delivery so absolutely no-one, not even GuardMail. Only those with an encryption key can access or read them.

End-to-End Encryption

Brief Summary of Video

Encrypted email means secure email.
P An encrypted email is simply one that uses a method of encryption, a security program that secures your email account from prying eyes, hackers and anyone else who shouldn’t have access to your data.
End-to-end encryption is in contrast to a more traditional system called encryption-in-transit, means that your data will be encrypted on your device and sent to a server. There, it is decrypted for processing, then re-encrypted and sent on to its final destination.

What is Encrypted Email?

Encrypted email means secure email.
P An encrypted email is simply one that uses a method of encryption, a security program that secures your email account from prying eyes, hackers and anyone else who shouldn’t have access to your data.
End-to-end encryption is in contrast to a more traditional system called encryption-in-transit, means that your data will be encrypted on your device and sent to a server. There, it is decrypted for processing, then re-encrypted and sent on to its final destination.

The data is encrypted anytime it’s in transit, but decrypted when it’s “at rest.” This protects the information through the most critical part of the trip — in transit — when it’s often most vulnerable to hackers, interception, and theft.

Email is a sweet spot for cyber criminals who can easily forge messages using a victim’s name or identity, so if you need to send sensitive documents or confidential client data, email encryption is able to solve any potential security problem.

Email encryption works through a combination of data compression, hashing techniques and cryptography – the process of hiding or coding information so that only the person a message was intended for (who holds an encryption key) can read it. Like other popular encryption methods such as Kerberos, end-to-to-end encryption authenticates network users, email messages through digital signatures or encryption keys and secure sockets layer (SSL), which secures websites, and the Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP), which protects data in motion.

Why is Email Encryption Important?

Encrypted emails are important because they enable people to confidentially send messages and data to each other using a combination of their public and private keys. In addition to simple two-way email messaging, users might want to ensure that financial transactions and business communications are encrypted to ensure maximum security.

Encrypted emails can also check the integrity of any message to detect whether it has been altered after being written and sent by the person who originally sent it. Encrypted email can also confirm whether a certificate belongs to someone and confirm that a message reaches the intended recipient, also known as the web of trust concept.

What are the benefits of PGP Encryption?

In a nutshell, Security. The biggest advantage of email encryption is that the algorithm is impenetrable by hackers. It is widely used by people who need to secure their private communications and is considered a leading method for enhancing cloud security. That is because encrypted emails are impossible for anyone to break into.

Can I send Encrypted Email to anyone?

If a recipient uses a different email service, GuardMail will lookup the encryption keys for any users who have published them, including automatic lookup for users who are using Open-Xchange via another service provider. If OX Guard cannot lookup an encryption key, then instead of receiving the sent email, the recipient receives a special notification email. This email contains a one-time link to a specially generated OX App Suite Guest Account. From within this account the recipient can read, and reply to, the encrypted content. The Guest account remains active as long as emails continue to be received.

This means that GuardMail’s secure email service protects both the sender and the receiver, regardless of which email client the receiver uses. By using a set of encryption keys and creating a digital signature for public and private keys ensures that only the intended receiver can open the email, while proving that a sender is the in fact real sender of the message.
